Georgetown College leaders say they've never seen an act like this on campus before, and now, they're beefing up patrols near the Crawford Drive apartments where the football players are housed.

Georgetown police are investigating the act they're calling "senseless."

They estimate thousands of dollars in damage after a person, or people, targeted members of the football team. Six cars were vandalized with damage ranging from broken windows to transmission fluid and synthetic deer urine being poured in the seats. Officers also say in at least one case, vandals used white field paint on the exterior of a car.

"Many thousands of dollars that these people are out and these are college students," explained Lt. Robert Swanigan with the Georgetown Police Department. "We've all been there. Now they're out of transportation."

Police don't know why these players cars were hit and say the damage was too costly and malicious to just be a prank.
Now they're hoping someone will step forward with information.

"We are hoping someone will come forward. We don't need name, just information," Swanigan said.

Police say if caught, the person, or people, responsible could face criminal mischief and theft charges.
