Georgetown has hired a Lexington Assistant Police Chief as its new chief. Michael Bosse accepted the job and is expected to start in Georgetown April 16.
Bosse is the Assistant Chief of patrol in Lexington, where he's worked for 30 years. In Lexington Assistant Chief Bosse has more than 250 officers under his command. He's also been a member of the Chief's Command Staff for the past ten years.
Georgetown Mayor Everette Varney says he's confident Bosse will lead the city's police department with integrity and competency. He says a public swearing-in ceremony will be held at a later date.
