Georgetown College (8-0, 4-0 Mid-South Conference East) stayed undefeated in football as the No. 4 Tigers rolled 50-7 at UVa-Wise (5-4, 1-2 MSC East). GC scored all of its points first before the Cavaliers were able to get a tally on the board.
Georgetown took the opening drive 80-yards capped by a Neal Pawsat strike to Chris Gohman. Tiger coach Bill Cronin then rolled the dice on a surprise onside kick and recovered it. GC went in for its second score.
Wise ran one offensive play, resulting in a fumble. Georgetown recovered and drove for a field goal and a 17-0 lead in the first eight minutes of the game.
The Tigers return home next Saturday for Senior Day against Lindsey Wilson. The winner will be the East Division champion, as the Blue Raiders (6-2, 3-1 MSC East) defeated West Virginia Tech 10-6.
