Man arrested after renting out meth home in Scott Co.

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police arrested a Scott County man for renting a residence where methamphetamine had been manufactured.

William Dillion, age 52, was arrested after police say he
rented out his residence on Indian Creek Road, in Sadieville, without giving written notice to the new renters that meth had been "cooked" inside the home.

According to the Kentucky Revised Statutes, "any person who leases, rents or sells property that has been determined to be contaminated," must give written notice to warn them of the danger. Property owners are also required to contact the health department to oversee the proper clean up of such properties.

Dillion was charged with the Lease/Rent/ Sale of Contaminated Meth Property Without Written Notice and lodged in the Scott County Jail.

"It's very difficult for police, unless we are notified or contacted, to know that this is happening. So the charge doesn't happen all that often, but probably should happen more often than it does, just because we need to be made more aware of it," said Trooper Kendra Wilson with Kentucky State Police.

Back in January, The Scott County Sheriff's Office arrested Dillion inside a home on Indian Creek Road. At the time of his arrest, police told WKYT that Dillion admitted a meth lab found in the home belonged to him.

The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police Frankfort Post.
