Kentucky State Police arrested 41-year-old Eric G. Carpenter and 41-year-old Raymond D. Hudson, both of Lexington, on a charge of knowingly exploiting an adult resulting in a financial loss of $300.00 or more. It's a class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Their arrest stemmed from a complaint made by family members of an elderly woman living in a local nursing home. As a result of the investigation the Grant County grand jury returned indictments on both subjects indicating that Carpenter and Hudson, acting as the elderly female’s guardian, over a 2 ½ year span of time, spent approximately $55,000 of her money for their own personal gain and pleasure without benefit to her well being.
On May 12, 2011, both Carpenter and Hudson were arrested in Georgetown and lodged at the Scott County Detention Center. State Police are asking that anyone with information concerning this case and any other individuals these two subjects may have cared for contact Detective Scott Lengle at (859)-428-1212.
