After more than nine hours of deliberations, a jury in a double murder trial came back with its decision around 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Jurors in the James Anthony Gray murder trial in Scott County weren't able to reach a verdict.

Gray is accused of murdering his parents back in 2007.

Jurors started deliberating late Tuesday afternoon.

Last night, we received some indication that they may be having a difficult time reaching a decision.

They requested to watch three tapes and listen to one other to try to help with deliberations.

Jurors had the option to convict Gray of murder or manslaughter and couldn't decide between those two or acquitting Gray.

Friends of the defendant say the hung jury is frustrating. "They've had a lot of trouble for some reason, and I cannot understand why," says Evelyn Adams, "There's no evidence to prove he's guilty. If anything, the court did him wrong."

A retrial is scheduled for September.
