Mom shocked woman steals from her son's donation jar

When we told Tara Harmon someone was stealing from her donation jar at the Papa John's in Georgetown, she was heartbroken. She's been trying for almost two months to get enough money to pay for her son's memorial.

"He was just starting to smile and have a personality and he meant a lot to all of us," says mother Tara Harmon. She lost her three-month-old son Landon back in November. He died of double pneumonia and Harmon and her husband couldn't afford a funeral. She tells us churches in Cynthiana and strangers to her family helped them with those funeral expenses. They're still trying to buy a memorial for him now.

"We didn't have any money saved back, we didn't have insurance and we just weren't prepared for anything like that."

They also weren't prepared for a woman to take advantage of the kindness of those strangers. Surveillance video from the Papa John's in Georgetown, where Harmon put up a jar for donations, shows someone taking the money meant for Landon's memorial.

Harmon has removed the jar from Papa John's for now, but will continue to try and find ways to fund a memorial for Landon.
