Sue Jones's family and friends gathered at her home Friday night to mourn the loss of a woman whose murder remains unsolved. Son Tommy Kidwell lived with Jones in their Scott county home. His mom died there exactly one year ago Friday. State police say she was murdered and suffered blunt force trauma. They've conducted polygraph tests, even questioned Kidwell, but still can't solve this case.
"It's still hard, the not knowing and having people ask all the time 'have they found out anything' and then you just shrug your shoulders and it just brings it up harder because you know it hasn't moved any," said Kidwell.
Kidwell called the last year frustrating and depressing. Friday's vigil was a chance for everyone to mourn together and hope for an answer.
"It's just more for Momma than anybody else," Kidwell said. "The night she died she was the happiest I'd seen her."
Jones was a long-time bus driver in Scott County.
