The Kentucky Wine & Vine Fest will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 in Downtown Nicholasville, Kentucky. Now in its 11th year, the event is a celebration of Kentucky Vineyards and Kentucky Winemaking featuring the finest wineries and vineyards from across the state and region. In addition to wine tasting, visitors enjoy an extensive selection of Kentucky Proud Foods, Kentucky arts & crafts, unique strolling entertainers, and more.
The festival has been dubbed "The Official Wine Fest of Kentucky" by an act of the Kentucky Legislature. The event was also named a Top 10 Festival for 2013 by the Kentucky Travel Association. Tasting tent admission is $30. Attendees must be 21 years of age to enter the tasting tent, however the food and arts and crafts are open to all at no charge.
On Friday evening before the festival, A Wine and Tapas Party will be held at Euro Wine War on Main Street. Tickets are available at www.kywineandvine.com.
An Amateur Wine-Making Competition is held in conjunction with the festival. Amateur winemakers submit their creations according to festival rules found at www.kywineandvine.com.
The Kentucky Wine & Vine Fest is presented by Nicholasville NOW, a Main Street Kentucky organization that promotes the historic preservation and revitalization of historic downtown Nicholasville.
