Police investigate pharmacy break-in

Police are searching for the man who broke into a Georgetown Pharmacy early Monday.

Surveillance cameras at J&L Pharmacy on South Broadway captured video of the break-in, which happened around 2 a.m.

A man wearing a mask threw a rock through two of the pharmacy's front doors.

After shattering the glass, the burglar rummaged around inside for less than a minute.

He also kicked open a door to a back room of the pharmacy.

Right now, pharmacy managers are trying to find out if the burglar got away with anything.

"You hate to see it happen. In all actuality you're glad it happens in the middle of the night instead of during the day when we're here," said owner and pharmacist Phillip Johnson.

Johnson says they've been broken into five or six times in the last ten years. He says those people were caught and he hopes this surveillance video will lead police to this latest thief.

He was wearing a mask and gloves. A police officer quickly responded to a burglar alarm at the pharmacy, but couldn't catch the burglar. He was last seen running toward the cemetery.
