Potholes causing big problems on I-75

They've been a problem for drivers in central Kentucky ever since the temperature dropped. The cycle of freezing and thawing, leaving potholes up and down the interstate.

This latest round of rain has caused some of these potholes to expand so much the Highway Department is making emergency pothole repairs today along I-75 in Scott County.

At least four cars had flat tires this morning, one truck struck one of the hazards with such force it tore it tore the wheel off.

Highway crews will also be out tomorrow making repairs in both lanes from mile 120 to 144.

For the people responding to the damage, it's been a busy morning.

"Massive, at least a foot deep some of them, it's not safe at all. This is the third call on the interstate to deal with these potholes," said tow truck driver Gregory Casey.

Drivers who's cars receive damage on the interstate can call the Board of Claims in Frankfort at 502-573-7986 to report the damage.
