A woman is in the hospital after a violent crash. The crash happened just before 12:30 on Cherry Blossom Way in Georgetown, at the I-75 exit.
Georgetown Police say a semi was turning onto the exit ramp, when a Ford Explorer, coming down Cherry Blossom collided with it. Fire crews had to cut open the Explorer to get out the driver. She was flown to a hospital for treatment with serious injuries.
The two people inside the semi were not hurt. They tell police that they had a green light to turn and that the Explorer ran a red light. Police are still investigating that claim.
Right now, Cherry Blossom Way was shutdown near I-75 as police investigated. It is back open now.
