Son accused of murdering parents goes on trial

James Anthony Gray is accused of shooting to death his parents, James and Vivian Gray, back in 2007 in their Scott County home.

In addition to murder, Gray also faces an evidence tampering charge.

This April will mark five years that Robert and Evelyn Adams have been waiting for answers in their neighbors' murder.

A family friend found James and Vivian Gray shot to death inside their Sadieville home back in April 2007. By October of the same year, police had charged the son, James Anthony Gray, with the death of the parents.

"In my heart I don't feel that he committed it. I think he's covering up for somebody and if I'm wrong he'll have to pay," says Evelyn Adams.

The murder of the Adams' friends has been on their minds each day since April 2007. Evelyn Adams says they pass the Gray's old home often, and always wonder who killed them. They're hoping this trial will uncover the truth, and let the family and friends of James and Vivian Gray finally find peace.

Jury selection is complete, and opening arguments are currently underway. The trial is expected to last until the end of the month.
