The Ramada Conference Center is the latest in a series of thefts that have taken place around Lexington.
Before the Ramada on North Broadway, the Courtyard Marriott in Hamburg. Before that, Marriott's Springhill Suites on South Broadway.
Police say the thefts all start the same way. The man enters the lobby bathroom, clogs the toilet, and asks the clerk for assistance.
That's when he makes his move, going behind the desk and stealing money from the cash drawer.
"Very similar. He's distracting the clerk, getting the money, then he's out of there. It really looks like the same guy," said Lt. Robert Swanigan with the Georgetown Police Department.
Swanigan says they have no arrests in a similar theft that happened back in August at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Georgetown.
"It's unfortunate, because most of the things this guy is asking for are things that need immediate attention, they can't just ignore it."
"They're doing exactly what they have to do. They've got a business to operate, they have to take care of that and it's gonna be on us to put this to rest," said Swanigan.
He says there are enough similarities that he will be checking in with Lexington Police to see if it is in fact the same thief.
Police say in one of the cases the suspect could be seen leaving the scene in a red, older model Honda Civic.
