Work will stop Friday at the Toyota plant in central Kentucky, and it's just the beginning of a slowdown for the company.
The plant in Georgetown will also be idle the 18th, 22nd and 25th of April.
Other plants in North America will be closed five days this month because of a shortage of parts due to the disaster in Japan.
On days like Friday, employees can report to work for training and plant improvement activities, or they can take paid vacation time or unpaid time off.
