HARLAN, Ky. (AP) - A new automated weather station is being put
in at an eastern Kentucky airport, with officials hoping to see the
project finished within 30 days.
The station is designed to serve aviation and meteorological
observation needs at Tucker-Guthrie Memorial Airport.
Airport Board Chairman Mark Miracle told the Harlan Daily
Enterprise that weather observations available through the system
would include barometric pressure, wind speeds and direction,
temperature and dew point in Celsius, cloud coverage and ceiling
and visibility.
