Escapee is back behind bars

HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT)- A man who escaped from a western Kentucky prison is back behind bars.

The Harlan County Sheriff's Office arrested William Paul Monroe.

Police say he escaped from the Marion Adjustment Center on September 30th.

Monroe also faces an indictment in Harlan for allegedly trafficking a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.

He is being held in the Harlan County Detention Center.
