HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - The case against a Harlan County man accused of child rape is going to a grand jury.
Kentucky State Police charged 54-year-old Ben Risner of Evarts with rape of a child younger than twelve years old.
On Monday during a preliminary hearing, the case was waived to the grand jury.
Harlan County District Court Clerk officials say the judge also agreed to reduce his bond from $100,000 full cash to ten percent of $100,000.
Police arrested a Harlan County man on charges of child rape.
Kentucky State Police say 54-year-old Ben Risner of Evarts hurt the child last week.
Last Thursday, a detective arrested him and charged him with Rape, 1st degree, victim under twelve years old.
Police will not release any other information.
"We can't go into any other details at this time due to the victim is still a child and the case is still under investigation," said Trooper Shane Jacobs.
Risner is in the Harlan County Detention Center. Bond is $100,000 full cash.
