HARLAN, Ky. (WYMT) - On July 5th, the City of Harlan lost a community leader who family members say was always willing to help people in need.
Charlie Stephenson was an Army veteran. He was a Harlan City Council Member for more than 20 years and owned a barber shop downtown. He was also a lifelong member of Harlan Baptist Church.
"He was genuinely concerned with everyone. If you had a need or a hurt he would do everything he could to try to help you with it with no thanks needed. he was just a genuine, caring person," said Anne Stephenson, Charlie Stephenson's wife.
Charlie Stephenson's funeral was at 2 p.m. on Monday. He was 76 years old.
