The Middlesboro Yellowjackets will look to rebound from last week's 63-20 loss to Bell County when they welcome Harlan to town.
The Jackets committed several turnovers and penalties last week and Coach Randy Frazier knows his squad cannot do that against the green dragons.
It will all start with protecting quarterback, Chase Roark.
"I think our offense does an outstanding job,” Frazier says. “Roark is probably the best around here. And when he gets time, I thought our offensive line gave him time last week. We've got to burst off the ball our receivers and when we get a chance to make a play we have to make a play. Our offensive line, like I said done a great job and it's just a matter of putting it all together and keeping our heads up and going out and doing something."
Meanwhile, the Harlan Green Dragons are finalizing their game plan to beat Middlesboro.
The Green Dragons are 1-1 on the young season and know applying the defensive pressure early and often on Chase Roark will help force turnovers and get the ball back in the hands of their offense.
"The number one thing is, we're trying to get pressure,” Coach J.B. Donahue says. “Trying to get some speed on the field with our up front people and try to get some pressure on him Not allow him to stay back there too long so the DBs can cover him a little bit. But if he's allowed to stand back there for a long period of time they're going to get people open and he's going to hit them because he can throw it a long way."
