HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) A foreman at a Harlan County coal mine has pleaded guilty to charges that he put miners at risk.

The Lexington Herald Leader reports Bryant Massingale was a foreman at the Manalapan Mining Company's P-1 mine.

He admitted that he failed to note and correct hazardous conditions.

The alleged illegal acts happened in the weeks before a mine employee was killed.

The company and two other men are charged in the case.

Massingale will be sentenced in January.
