Snow hits Cumberland Valley

Crews in the Cumberland Valley region spent the day clearing main roads.

Some people in this part of the region got more than 6 inches of snow.
The salt truck wheels are keeping the roads warm in the Cumberland Valley.

Bell County Road Department officials say they have already used the same amount of salt as they did last winter.
Proof that crossing your fingers for no snow ...did not help.

"That's not worked, but I still got them crossed. We can't help what nature gives us," said Bruce Nunn.

But crews can fight back with your help.

"If you see us behind you. Go ahead and pull over and let us take the lead. Maybe we can get that road clean so you don't have an accident," said M.D. Farley with the Harlan County Road Department.

Supervisors say crews will continue to work long shifts to make sure folks can get out if they must.
