HARLAN, Ky. (WYMT) - A man accused of murdering a coal operator more than 25 years ago will still go on trial in December.
Earnest Hensley's defense requested to push back the trial date, but that request was denied.
Hensley is accused of killing Harry Miller Maupin of Richmond.
Maupin went missing in 1985 and the case was considered cold until July of this year.
Maupin's body was never found, but police say they learned he was shot and then his body was moved out of Halran County.
The two were business partners at a coal company.
Hensley is still set to go on trial December 4th.
