The recent rain we've seen across Kentucky the last few days has created some problems in many areas, including Mercer County.

Overnight, many roads in the county were under water. However, conditions had improved by late Tuesday morning.

The water is still rushing in Fallis Run Creek. However, nearby roads are passable, with some small debris left behind.

Mercer County officials say many roads, like Russell Branch Road, flooded due to the rain.

For people living in the area, when the roads are flooded, they say they have a difficult time getting around.

"When it floods, especially on the route I have, it's at least a 27 mile detour every time," Robin Purdom, who delivers mail, said.

While the flood waters have gone down for now, people living in the area worry any more rainfall could cause more flooding.

Mercer County emergency management officials say all of the roads that were flooded earlier are now fine, and the road department was not called out.
