Police in one central Kentucky town say they were able to put a stop to a marijuana growing problem in one neighborhood, thanks to an alert neighbor.
Burgin Police Jim Caldwell says a person living along West Court Street called police Sunday afternoon after seeing a woman move marijuana plants from a neighboring yard to inside her home.
Officers say they confiscated 25 plants, valued at $25,000. Burgin Police say they expect to make other arrests in connection with this case.
Police say Savage told them she was bringing the plants inside after some teenagers found them.
Tina Savage and another woman, Judy Butler, have since been arrested and lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center with charges of marijuana cultivation, trafficking within 1,000 yards of a school, and endangering the welfare of a minor.
