Police say he's armed, dangerous, and on the run. Multiple police agencies across the area on the lookout for a murder suspect. The Mercer County Sheriff's Department says 52-year-old James Kelley is responsible for killing one man, and shooting the victim's wife. The violence happened Tuesday night at a home on Ashley Camp Road near Lake Herrington.
The Mercer County Sheriff's Department says Kelley could be anywhere, so they've enlisted help from several other police departments in surrounding counties to help find him.
Investigators say Kelley shot John "Bud" Dacci to death at Dacci's home. Dacci and Kelley were former business partners with Dacci's Heating and Air. People who Dacci because of the business say he was a kind man. They say Dacci and Kelley's partnership ended several years ago.
"We have every reason to believe that he is armed and he is definitely going to be dangerous," Mercer County Sheriff Ernie Kelty said. "We have warned anybody that we think may be in direct harm, and we have sent national teletypes to all law enforcement agencies on the information that we have."
Kelley was last seen driving a silver 2007 Nissan Titan pickup. Emergency crews took Dacci's wife to UK Hospital, and friends say she is in stable condition.
