A Kentucky woman who claims her 9-year-old autistic son was stuffed into a duffel bag for misbehaving at school says she plans to speak out at January's school board meeting. She'll be backed by a petition with signatures from people across the country.

Sandra Baker said Tuesday she wants Mercer County school officials to fire the teacher responsible for placing her son Christopher in the bag and pulling the drawstring tight Dec. 14. Sandra Baker says she found her son wiggling inside the bag as a teacher's aide stood by.

Baker says her son was being punished and that she's considering home-schooling him.

Mercer County schools interim Superintendent Dennis Davis did not immediately respond to a call and email seeking comment.

State education officials say they are investigating.
