A fire early Wednesday morning at Bullfrogs in Burgin has lead to an investigation, one the owner hopes will reveal how this fire started.
William Bailey got the call around 4:30 this morning. When he arrived, firefighters were battling the raging flames that were consuming his building.
Once the flames were out, there wasn't an inch inside the building that hadn't been affected.
"Appears to be totally burnt. What the fire didn't get the smoke and the heat did," said Bailey.
Now an investigation is underway. Firefighters say when they got on scene, the back door to the building was open, and the lock on the front door had been broken.
Bailey says he had a small number guns stored in the building. So far, police haven't been able to locate several of them.
"I would truly like to find out it was an accident, but they'll let me know what they find," said Bailey.
Regardless of the cause, he says he plans to see this building rebuilt.
"it's like the last part of your life has gone up in flames. Have to pick up and start over," Bailey said.
Kentucky State Police and Mercer County Fire investigators will continue collecting evidence as they try to determine what, or who, started this fire.
