Women attacked walking on trail

The Mercer County Sheriff's Department is investigating a reported attack at a Harrodsburg park.

Officials say a women called 911 around 7:40 pm Wednesday night to say her walking partner was attacked by a man who had just exposed himself to them as they walked the two mile track around Anderson Dean Park in Harrodsburg.

A sheriff's deputy says the two were walking on an isolated part of the track when a man, also out for a walk, passed them and exposed himself. The deputy says the women ignored the man which prompted him to tackle one woman, hitting her head against the track. The man ran after the other woman called police.

The sheriff says authorities searched the park but the man got away. They're looking for a white man, 5'9" to 5'11", possibly with a goatee. Police say this is the first crime like this to happen at the park.
