The annual WYMT Food City Charity Golf Classic raises money every year for students in Eastern Kentucky.
The tournament, which is in its 19th year, kicked off Thursday morning at Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg.
All of the proceeds are going towards Tony Turner Memorial Scholarship fund.
This year, five winners received more than $13,000 in scholarship money.
More than one dozen teams teed off making their way through the 18 hole course, but this day of golf is all for a good cause.
Kami Griffith from Breathitt County High School is one of five students receiving a scholarship from the scholarship fund set up to help seniors pursuing careers in journalism reach their dreams.
She wants to focus on sports journalism at UK.
Another recipient grew up watching WYMT.
Ted McCoart hopes he might one day sit behind the desk just like Tony Turner.
He spent his senior year anchoring on Johnson Central High School's news program
He plans to go to Morehead State University and pursue broadcasting.
