A Kentucky doctor admits she prescribed painkillers to patients she did not examine.
The Lexington Herald reports Diane Shafer, who had an office in Williamson and a listed home in Paintsville, pleaded guilty to improperly prescribing drugs in West Virginia.
Shafer would leave prescriptions at her office so that employees could distribute them in return for cash payments.
Records show Shafer prescribed nearly 120 thousand prescriptions for drugs that included narcotics between 2003 and 2010.
