JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT)- For Johnson County Sheriff Dwayne Price, it’s a game of cat and mouse.
“You don’t know who we’ve got bugged and who we don’t,” Price said.
The drug problem inside county lines is something this sheriff doesn’t take lightly.
“As long as we hold this office, we’re going to continue to hammer on these folks that want to operate on the other side of the fence,” Price said.
Deputies headed out early Thursday with warrants in hand, looking for 10 people for various drug charges.
“A lot of them are repeat,” Price added.
For some, relying on prescription pain killers, meth and Suboxone is a way of life.
Deputy William Meade has worked in law enforcement for 26 years. He’s also a father.
“Good people sometimes make poor judgment,” Meade said.
He’s seen how addiction affects families first hand.
“You can’t help but be affected by it. It’s said to think that parents would put children in this type of a situation,” Meade added.
And it’s that motivation that drives these men to fight a battle that seems to never end.
Below is a list of people arrested in Operation June bug for various drug charges:
Heather F. Stambaugh
James Douglas Daniels
Elizabeth G. Skeens
Bobby E. Estep
Dwayne C. Salyer
