PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - A former Paintsville doctor will spend the next 75 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
A U.S. District Judge sentenced 66 year old Richard Albert for conspiring to distribute and dispense controlled substances.
We are told Albert admitted to writing numerous fraudulent prescriptions to individuals without a legitimate medical purpose from January 2009 to February 2011.
Albert agreed to forfeit more than $630,000 and was ordered to pay one hundred thousand dollars in community restitution.
