Former doctor asks for lighter sentence

A former Paintsville doctor, who pleaded guilty in December to federal charges, is asking a judge for a lighter sentence later this month.

Last month, Richard Albert sent a letter to U.S. District Judge Amul Thapar saying quote, "You see, greed got the best of me, it clouded my eyes, I deeply regret my actions."

Prosecutors say Albert distributed 50,000 OxyCodone pills illegally.

He is set to be sentenced July 30th in London federal court.
