PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - The Johnson County Middle School academic team is back home as state champions after their Governor's Cup competition in Louisville.
Team members say they are proud to be a part of such a strong tradition...winning the school's 11th state title.
The students say they work hard and are thankful their hard work paid off.
Daniel Short says, "We practice so much, like even on snow days we come here and practice 10-5."
Jeremy Copley says, "No other team, or sports, or any type of participation of any kind...has won 11 state championships."
The Johnson Central High School team placed fourth.
