PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - More than 400 students in Johnson County are going back to school with free supplies.
The Youth Services Center at Johnson Central High School gave out supplies to students Tuesday morning.
The supplies were donated.
They gave out everything from pencils and paper to shampoo and soap.
"The economy is so bad. Jobs are lacking. So anything that we can do to remove any of those barriers for our students to be able to succeed at school that's what we're here for," said Coordinator Karen Salyer.
The Youth Services Center also has the Angel's Closet where high school students can get clothes and shoes for school.
They say they served nearly 50 students there by Tuesday afternoon.
Angel's Closet is open five days a week.
They are always accepting donations.
