Johnson County Sheriff's deputies say when they received tips that illegal activity was going on at a house on Greer Branch something was a bit unusual.
"Myself and Deputy Terry Tussey was receiving two different complaints," said Deputy Tim Clark.
...At the same time.
"I received a tip on growing marijuana at greer branch," said Deputy Terry Tussey.
"And I was receiving a tip of stolen property at the same location," said Clark.
So they went together to figure out what was going on.
"When myself and Deputy Clark arrived on scene, we found a marijuana plant roughly about 100-150 feet from the house," said Tussey.
When that tip turned out to be true they started searching for the reported stolen property, and they did not have to look very far.
"Around the back of the house we located a stolen 2010 John Deere tractor," said Tussey.
They also found hardwood flooring, a utility trailer, a dishwasher, and some tools, all of which had been reported stolen from neighboring homes, and they estimate it to be worth nearly $3500.
"The individuals who actually, property owners came to the residence, identified that stolen merchandise and retrieved their property," said Tussey.
After investigating deputies arrested 47-year-old Michael Wayne Charles on charges of receiving stolen property. He was taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
No charges were filed in connection with the marijuana plant.
