The American Cancer Society will host its first ever Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Paintsville on Saturday, October 26, 2013 in downtown Paintsville on Court Street. The Paintsville community is excited to host this event and have the opportunity to help finish the fight against breast cancer.
This inspiring 5K, family friendly, walk raises awareness and funds to help end breast cancer by supporting the Society’s efforts to find cures and support programs and services for all people facing the disease. Paintsville’s Making Strides walk is one of more than 300 events being held across the country this year.
Paintsville breast cancer survivor, Brenda Felty is excited about this event and her opportunity to walk. “I am thrilled that the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is taking place right here in my community. It has been a blast getting involved and raising money and awareness to help end breast cancer. I hope that this event will help to ensure that others will not have to go through the battle that I have been through. I hope it will bring us one step closer to a cure.”
