JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Police say two people in Johnson County are behind bars in connection with multiple burglaries.
They say they found the pair with several guns and other items that had recently been reported stolen.
Sheriff's deputies in Johnson County say over the past couple weeks, several burglaries have been reported.
The most recent one reported several items missing from the home.
"Upon investigation we discovered several firearms were missing from the residence as well as jewelry and clothes," said Deputy David Pridemore.
Later that day, police pulled over 29-year-old Jessie Blair, and when they searched his car, they say they found many items matching descriptions of the ones reported stolen.
Sheriff's deputies say 12 guns were reported stolen. So far they have recovered 11 of them, and the other one is still being investigated.
"They were pump shot guns, bolt action rifles, and one revolver," said Pridemore.
Blair and his passenger, Ronni Scott, were arrested Wednesday and charged with receiving stolen property, and police say it is not the first time they have been in trouble.
"I know both of the people arrested in this case, and both of them do have a drug problem, just based on what I've seen. Both people arrested in this situation do have a record," said Sheriff Dwayne Price.
They also say there is an easy way to get your stuff back if it is ever stolen, something that slowed down this case. Just write down your serial numbers.
"It doesn't matter if it shows up in California. It's going to come back to this county, this state, this county, this department," said Price.
Blair and Scott are being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
Police returned the items they found to the original owners.
