Students compete in international academic championship

Another group of Paintsville students is in Indiana competing for an international academic championship.

The Future Problem Solvers team from Paintsville Elementary School won the state championship and is in Indiana this week competing with students from all across the country and around the world.

The middle school team finished third in the state and also went to the international competition.

“We are so excited to be the state champions and to have an international champion is just astounding you know the best kids in the world at doing what we do and so it's great that our kids are being so successful,” Bryan Auxier, Paintsville Elementary Principal said.

The competition continues through Sunday.
