Water problems cause schools to close in Johnson County

PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - The water situation in Johnson County closed schools on Monday.

Johnson County school leaders say they tried everything possible to have school Monday morning, but with one school without water and another under a boil water advisory, it was just not possible.

Assistant Superintendent, Harry Burchett says, "You're talking 25 to 30 percent of the county population impacted, we knew it was in the best interest of our community...our kids and families to call off for today."

Officials say they hope to have school tomorrow.
