Police make an arrest in overnight murder in Laurel County

6:45am Update:

LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - Police tell us the first call about the fight came in about 11 Monday night

When they got to the scene, they say they found 25-year-old Pamela Sue Bobbitt with multiple stab wounds to her back, chest, wrist and jaw.

Officers also found Bobbitt's two children inside, but they were not hurt.

We're told Bobbitt and Messer have a child together.

Police say this isn't Messer's first run in with the law, were told he has a pretty lengthy criminal background.

LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - We are following a developing story out of Laurel County.

We have just confirmed with the London police chief a stabbing has left one person dead and police have made an arrest.

We're told it began early Tuesday morning at an apartment complex on South Laurel Road.

When police arrived, they saw a man take off from the apartment, but were not able to catch up to him.

Inside, they found a woman who had been stabbed. She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators say they later learned their suspect, 34-year-old Sean Messer, had recently dropped off a car to be serviced at the local Chevy dealership.

They set up a perimeter to wait him out.

Officers say he returned to his car where he was arrested.

Messer is charged with murder and is in the Laurel County jail.

The victim has not yet been identified.
