Laurel County Board of Education officials have begun interviewing five candidates for the vacant superintendent seat.
The list includes Doug Bennett of Whitley County, Robert Fannin of Shelby County, Kevin Hub and Marvin Welch of Madison County and the current Laurel County Assistant Superintendent Randy Leger.
Former Superintendent David Young resigned late last year after he was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence.
