Car stolen at London Business

LONDON, Ky. (WYMT/WKYT) - Police are asking for your help finding six people accused of stealing someone's Suzuki Samurai out of a business in London.

Surveillance footage shows six people coming to a BP gas station in London on Monday night in two cars. It shows four people, including three women and one man, going into the gas station. It also shows two other men break into R and S Truck Repair next door.

"Each one of them pulled to a gas pump like they were getting gas and they never got any gas," said the owner of the gas station, Anthony Brummett.

Instead of getting gas, footage shows a stolen car crashing out of R and S Truck Repair, and the gas station owner says the four people in the gas station were keeping a lookout.

"From the looks of it on the camera, the girls and the other guy that was with them were watching the clerks, making sure that they did not put an eye on them or did not get suspicious," Brummett said.

Police say the people inside the gas station were attempting to distract the employees from seeing the theft next door.

The property owner, Robert Rudd, says that surveillance footage shows the four people inside the gas station looking very pleased as the stolen car drives by.

"The other subjects that were with him were in the building and they were really happy when they went by because they really wanted to go ride that four wheeler I guess," said Rudd.

Police say they need your help finding the six people involved, including three women and three men.

"The surveillance video inside the store is excellent and we were able to get some good images from those persons and we've posted those on our Facebook page hoping that the public will help us in identifying these suspects," said Gilbert Acciardo with the Laurel County Sheriff Department.

"I would encourage the public to continue sending us leads because the leads we got may not be the ones we need and they may not pan out. So keep the information coming to us."

Police say the car was found abandoned seven miles south of London on Old State Road. Officials say the total damage to the car and the gate is more than $5,000.
