LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - The North Laurel Jaguars are off to an impressive 4-2 start to the season, with their losses coming to 5-1 Wayne County and 6-0 Russell County.
Jaguar head coach Chris Larkey says his team is about where they expected to be at this point in the year, and heading into their district game with Pulaski County on Thursday, 1-0 in the district is right where they wanted to be.
"Well, we're kind of where we were, where we thought we were going to be. You know, we knew that probably the best team we were going to play was going to be Russell County, and we played good with them. That's what I was proud of. Our kids have gotten tougher, more physical. They emotionally got better for the games, physically for the games, and mentally for the games. So, you know, I think we're right where we wanted to be. We definitely want to be 1-0 in the district and beat our rival, cross town rival South Laurel, and that's what we did last week," says Larkey.
