LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - Jury selection is expected to begin Tuesday in a federal hate crime case at the London Federal Courthouse.
20-year-old Anthony Ray Jenkins and 37-year-old Jason David Jenkins are charged in the case.
Officials say the two kidnapped a man in Harlan County and severely beat him because he is gay.
Prosecutors say this is the first federal case involving the sexual orientation section of the hate crimes law.
