CORBIN, Ky (WYMT) - Police are searching for a man believed to have robbed the same gas station twice in three days.
The Laurel County Sheriff's Department worked a robbery at the BP gas station off exit 29 in Corbin Monday night and on Friday night.
Police say surveillance video shows it is the same person in both robberies, and now they need your help identifying him.
"We had a lone gunman come in. He was armed with a semi automatic pistol, and he actually stuck in the persons face and said 'Give me your money'," said Gilbert Acciardo with the Laurel County Sheriff's Department.
Police are not releasing how much money the suspect got away with on Friday night, but they say on Monday night is was less.
"It's probably the same person. He got away with it one time, he's probably an area resident, somebody that lives nearby. And he got away with it one time, he thought he'd try it again," said Acciardo.
Workers in the area say robberies are very rare until the past few days when the BP gas station was robbed twice.
Workers next door at the Shell gas station are taking extra precautions to make sure this doesn't happen to them.
"I was very surprised when someone called and told me. I was very surprised and scared," said manager Becky Woods.
The manager says they have a good security system and take extra steps at night to ensure the worker's safety.
"We lock the back area and just use the front for third shift. That gives them some protection. They can see who's coming in," said Woods.
Police describe the suspect as a white man in his forties with a gray beard weighing around 200 pounds.
If you have any information, you should call police.
