LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - Police say she abandoned her baby to go party.
Police have arrested a southern Kentucky mother, after the child died.
The Laurel County Sheriff's Office charged Rachel Kilburn with abandonment of a minor.
Deputies say Kilburn and her boyfriend, Johnathan Haynes, left the 10-week-old girl with Haynes' brother and grandfather Saturday.
Monday night, the brother discovered the baby wasn't breathing and called for help.
The child soon died.
The grandfather says the pair also asked for money, claiming Kilburn's son was injured in an accident but deputies say that was a lie.
The grandfather says he's shocked.
