LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - The North Laurel Jaguars are coming off of a big district win last week, defeating rival South Laurel 35-10.
Head coach Chris Larkey wants his team to come out ready to play on Thursday and not get caught in the hangover after their big win. He's also wanting his team to play more physical, much like their opponent this week, the Pulaski County Maroons.
"Well, first of all, we just beat a big rivalry, so our kids have to learn not to have the hangover after the big win, so they got to come out ready to play the next game," says Larkey. "Shoot, they just got to be more physical and be mentally tougher, and look for the next game, and not look ahead. Just play each game as it's on of their last football games. They're well balanced. They throw the ball and run the ball very well, and they play exceptional defense. The kids are tough over in Pulaski County. They got a lot of athletes, a lot of size and speed. More than what we have. So, we're just going to have to buckle up and play a little bit more physical football."
