LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Officers in Laurel County say they now have a suspect after a woman says she was attacked along a Southern Kentucky road.
WKYT brought you the story Thursday of a woman who shot video of a suspect who she says attacked her.
Since that story aired officers in Laurel County say they have received numerous tips. They say 29-year-old Harold Gaines is responsible.
Police say the victim in this case was able to identify Gaines from a photo lineup. They also say Gaines has a long criminal history.
The Laurel County sheriff says a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Initially the woman says she thought the man was a thief, she didn't know the man would attack her.
The woman says she pulled up behind her parents' shed to find a man approaching the door.
She said he jumped back into his truck and took off when he saw her, but she decided to follow.
She realized she had a camera in her purse, so she started recording video. Watts doesn't know how fast they were going, only that she wanted that plate number. Then, video shows the truck stop and the driver approach.
The woman and Gaines exchanged heated conversation and then the video goes blurry as the two appear to get into an altercation.
The woman ended with some scrapes and bruises but nothing too serious.
